New Goals for 2012

I have been so blessed over the past five years, to have an amazing group of students. They come every week without fail and we experiment with lots of different techniques, use all kinds of mediums. And just have a good ole' time.
Coming in 2012, I feel I want to offer more. And we are talking about putting a Beading Guild together.
Is there anyone of you out there in the Beading community that can give me some thoughts about this? I have so much on my mind, and so much I want to offer. I'm ready for my students to take everything they've learned from me and expand it, so they can also be instructors, they can get involved in show casing their work and get into the show venue if that's the direction they wish to go. We also want to see new faces, bring in people that have been buying beads for years and still haven't put them to use. We want to be a positive influence in our community, taking a portion of our proceeds to give to the local non-profits.
Would love to hear from my Bead Friends, your comments and or suggestions. Thanks, CJ

Second Challenge of Color Blog Hop
Erin Prais Hintz organizer
The color I chose was teal.
Pallet created by Jessica Colaluca of Design seeds.

http://www.designseeds.com/

Decided to use only the first three colors in my pallet, mainly because I couldn't seem to match the darker blue. As a seed bead freak, I naturally created my piece using two colors of teal seed beads, and the ivory colored pearls.

I also love Dragonflies, they have such a unique look to them, they move so swiftly, and some have beautiful colors that reflect from their wings.

This piece includes my very own hand made polymer clay beads. I've been having a blast with my students. We've been playing with polymer the last three weeks.

Blue Moon

Capturing the moon on a starlit night, when the sky is a deep dark blue. This is something I really love.

New Designs
Working with wire and beads to create Beautiful one of a kind Designs

Adrian Women in Business Expo
Spent the day at Adrian mall with a great group of people sharing their wears and businesses.
My day started out to seem like it could be a disaster, as I locked my keys into my van, along with
the majority of my jewelry. My husband was at work so he could not help me out. Lock smith was not answering
and still has not called me back. Thankfully not everything was loaded, and a very kind gentlemen offered to give me a ride to the mall. It turned out to be a very nice day after all.

An important note -- the party will now be run by lottery.

During the registration dates, you'll enter your information into a registration form. When registration closes, a random number generator will pick the group of people. No more than 200 people will be able to participate.

Partners will be announced a week after registration closes, and the party will then proceed as usual.

Little Sis visiting

My Baby sister is visiting from Dallas, Texas.  It's been over 5 years since we've seen each other.  So happy to have her here!  Mom is happy to see her too!
She even came to my bead class, I taught her how to free form peyote.  She made two bracelets already!

Bead Soup Blog Party

Bead Soup Blog Party

Bead Soup is loads of fun. You get to exchange a Bead Soup mix that you created for a fellow beader that will soon become your new bead friend. This person could be across the world from you. But who cares as long as the love of beads are involved. You send at least one focal, an unusual clasp, and a mixture of complementary beads so your partner can design something beautiful. Then September 17, the reveal happens. You get to see all the amazing creations from beaders all over the world. If you don't have a blog, don't be scared, it's an easy set up, and you'll be able to join in. Hope to meet you at the Bead Soup Party.
